How to connect the Ultrasonic Portable range to NMEA 0183/2000, Bluetooth and Wifi with the NCP-High-End


The Ultrasonic Portable Mini and Ultrasonic Portable Solar can be connected  to the NMEA 0183/2000, Bluetooth and Wifi via NCP-HighEnd.

General configuration instructions


1- Connect the NCP via USB to your computer. Confirm the green light is on in the NCP box.

2- Look for the NCP wifi in the computer’s wifi options and connect to it by inputting the password found on the NCP.

3- Once connected, input the following IP address: 192.168.4.1 (found on the NCP).

4- Click on "Configuration Page".

5- In BLE Configuration, input the MAC address of the Portable unit (Portable Unit MAC is found on the Portable Mini/Solar box). Hit save. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer, wait a couple of seconds and reconnect it.

6- Refresh the IP page and click on the Status Page. You will see the NCP connected to the Portable MAC number you inputted.

7-To power the NCP_High-End, it needs to be connected to a power source. Connect the positive power cord to the +12 volts.

8-Connect the negative power to the GND (ground). The NCP is now powered.

9-Make sure the green LED is lit. If it isn’t, it’s not connected to power.


Option 1: NCP_High-End to NMEA 1083 Display. Instructions to connect the NCP_High-End to a NMEA 1083 Display.


With the power source turned off! (Do not disconnect the cables).

1-Take the Display Power cable and connect to the +12 volt in the NCP. Note: NMEA 0183 wire's colors may vary depending on display.

2-Connect the Display Ground cable to the 1.GND rapid connection in the NCP.

3-Create a bridge between the GND and the 1.GND.

4-Connect the 0183 Input to 1.485+ and  and 0183 Output to 1.485 -.

5-Turn on the power to the power source and the NCP and the NMEA 0183 Display are now connected and communicating.


Note: It is the same to connect to Port 1 or Port 2. Make sure that whatever port you have chosen is at 4800 bauds in the Configuration Page of the NCP.


Option 2: NCP_High-end to NMEA 2000 Display. Instructions to connect to a NMEA 2000 Display 


1-Plug the NMEA 2000 cable from the NCP_BT2000 to the NMEA2000 backbone.

Option 3: NCP_High-End to Anemotracker App. Instructions to connect the Ultrasonic Portable Solar/Mini via Bluetooth from the NCP_High-End to the Anemotracker App


1-On your mobile device, turn on Bluetooth and GPS.

2-Open Anemotracker App, allow app permissions and in the Settings Menu, click on Scan.

3-Find the NCP in available Bluetooth devices and select it. You can find it under the name NMEA 5.0.

4-Once connected, you can see wind data in the app.


Option 4: NCP_High-end to Wifi. Instructions to connect the NCP_High-End to Wifi


1-Connect the NCP via USB to your computer. Confirm the green light is on in the NCP box.

2-Look for the NCP wifi in the computer’s wifi options and connect to it by inputting the password found on the NCP.

3-Once connected, input the following IP address: 192.168.4.1 (found on the NCP).

4-Click on Configuration Page.

5-In Wifi Station Config, input your Wifi network address in the section ‘Wifi ESSID’ and the Wifi network password in the section ‘Wifi Pass.

6-Hit Save and a new page will appear. Click on the link: ‘Return to config page.

*The user may optionally set a Static Wifi Configuration in the IP configuration section. The static address, the gateway, the Netmask and the DNS address can be set. (Recommended for advanced users).

7-Disconnect the NCP from the USB port, wait 1-2 seconds and connect it to its power source. Now you can get wind data from the NCP through your wifi network.
